Canadian musician Seth Zara Nyquist, known as MorMor, is releasing his second album, No One Alive Will Listen, on Promised Land Records. A Toronto-born, self-taught multi-instrumentalist, he has long been recognized for an introspective blend of indie pop, R&B and dreamlike synth textures, in which vulnerability and sonic depth play a central role.
The record was made in three places: London, Toronto, and Shangri-La, the studio owned by producer Rick Rubin. MorMor worked on the material with several co-producers: Hudson Mohawke, Jack Peñate, Russell Boring, Kane Ritchotte, John Keek and Caleb Laven. The singles are “Like Heaven” (featuring Celeste), “Don’t Need It” and “Hurt You”. The album is full of lively energy and a fresh perspective, and its release marks the artist’s return in stunning form.
