The Killjoys - Stealing Horses (2005)

Stealing Horses marks the band's first full-length release after a seven-year hiatus (since the release of Sun Bright Deep in 1998). Recorded at the band's own studio, Audrey Studios, the album's highlight is Anna Burley's clear, emotional vocals. Her voice resonates over mature, layered arrangements created in partnership with guitarist Craig Pilkington. The music balances between bright hope and a touch of melancholy.

The lyrics traditionally focus on human relationships, the fragility of feelings, trust, and emotional experiences. The album showcases the band's signature high level of independent songwriting.
