Pearl / Ruby (2011) is a special archival reissue released to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the iconic debut by Melbourne band The Killjoys. The release combines a fully remastered version of the original Ruby (1990), which earned the band an ARIA Award, with previously unreleased and rare material from the 1989–1991 period, loosely compiled into the Pearl sessions. Led by Shirley Glenn (Anna Burley) and Craig Newman, this reissue offers a comprehensive overview of the band's transformation from chamber acoustic jangle pop to a more mature and multilayered alternative sound.
