Electric Orange - Misophonia (2016)

Misophonia (2016) is one of the darkest, most hypnotic, and deeply immersive works in the extensive discography of German avant-garde band Electric Orange. Named after a neurological syndrome (an intolerance to certain sounds), the album ironically explores the line between uncomfortable noise and hypnotic harmony. Project leader Dirk Janßen and his colleagues construct a conceptual space where the motoric rhythms traditional to 1970s Krautrock intertwine with dark ambient textures, heavy psychedelic jams, and cinematic avant-prog.
