Higher Intelligence Agency & Biosphere - Birmingham Frequencies (Remastered) (2026) [Hi-Res]

Higher Intelligence Agency & Biosphere - Birmingham Frequencies (Remastered) (2026) [Hi-Res]
The musical album "Birmingham Frequencies," created by Norwegian electronic musician Biosphere (Geir Jenssen) and British producer Bobby Bird (founder of Higher Intelligence Agency), presents a profound sonic panorama of Birmingham at the turn of the millennium. Recorded in 1999 and released on CD in 2000, the work merges environmental field recordings with intricate ambient textures, deep dub pulsations, and a cinematic aesthetic reminiscent of Angelo Badalamenti's scores for David Lynch. Instead of relying on the city's conventional industrial image, the recording paints a romantic and contemplative acoustic portrait. The project bridge the gap between the classic ambient lineage of Brian Eno and Jon Hassell and contemporary dub ambient and techno-ambient soundscapes, foreshadowing the aesthetics of artists like uon and Pendant.
