The Brooklyn-based electronic duo Observation Room, featuring Marina F. and Chloe Olson, has delivered their debut full-length record SuperSTRUCTURE, issued via La Carte Records. Moving away from the detached chill of their early EP, the project transitions toward a rich sonic narrative blending synth-pop, krautrock, and ambient soundscapes. The album's musical direction builds upon late-1970s experimental synthesizer traditions, taking cues from the cinematic scope of Tangerine Dream alongside the melodic songwriting of Depeche Mode and Book of Love.
The sonic architecture couples hypnotic motorik grooves, avant-garde dissonance, mechanical signals, and field recordings with warm, tight vocal harmonies developed through extensive live performances. The record's lyricism moves between intimate personal paranoia and broad critiques of political systems. Produced and mixed entirely by Marina F. in Brooklyn and mastered by Sharon Aiza Engel, the release features visual design by Nat Cherry and photography by Tim O'Connell.
