Darren DeMarco is a singer/songwriter who has just released his latest solo effort that cuts right through rock and roll’s current mold. Being born into a family of musicians on August 11th, 1980, Darren has been exploring his own talents from an early age. After a series of bands, open mics, and local gigs, Darren has pooled together his talent, experience and artistic development to create something that, from start to finish, brings a sound that is distinctly his.
Growing up, Darren’s greatest musical influence lived right under the same roof, as his father was a talented vocalist who sang in bands made up of his three brothers and a slew of other well-rounded players from the early 1970’s through the mid-1990’s. From a wide selection of his father’s music and a heavy dose of The Beatles, Darren naturally realized his singing abilities. Little was done with this talent until he turned 21, and fell into his first band as the missing vocal piece of an instrumental trio in 2001.
This eventually segued into a six-piece party machine that tore through Central New Jersey hotspots with its high-energy sound leaving behind a trail of evenings you wouldn’t tell your mother about. After hitting better-known venues in locations including New York City, Philadelphia and the Jersey Shore, this project eventually self-destructed in 2004. However, before it did, Darren managed walk away with a solid foundation of song writing attributes, including the ability to play guitar. He built upon these raw talents over the next eight years and through several other bands. Armed with a solid collection under his belt, Darren took his own tracks and revived ones from his uncles, and headed to the studio to begin work on his own record in 2009.
Taking plenty of care to properly execute the sound he was out for, Darren has spent countless hours in the studio fine tuning his own originals, and revamping a few of his uncle’s classics. Several years later, Darren has finally narrowed his catalogue to a hand-picked selection of stellar cuts that he is proud to present as his first full-length solo effort.
