This release is a bit of a departure from the two previous releases (What’s Troubling Me and Got to Get Up). In lieu of our blues/soul mix, we decided to take the raw power of Chicago blues and give it a nice injection of both country and western.
With this release you will discover a fine mix of drinking songs, instrumentals, songs about cars (functional and dysfunctional), and songs of heartbreak and unrequited love.
Follow the misadventures of a man who cannot resist the taste of Aztec gold (When Tequila Does the Talking); Travel with the band as they cross the emotional landscape of life (State of Mind); Listen to a slide go up down and all around powered by a two step shuffle groove (Walk Ins Welcome): Follow the sound of a Chicago blues harp as it blazes across a scorching desert (Particles); Meet a man who really is “Too Sad to Sing the Blues”. On second thought, we did not completely forgo the soul influence. Try a nice helping of "Hold" as proof. The fiddle in this song really caresses the eardrums. Now, of course, since we are a blues band based in Chicago, there are also songs that reflect the tradition (Sure to Follow, Unlucky Whiskey).
