Bianca Scout - bianca scout presents: the early years (2026)

life is beautiful parse Bianca Scout’s 2013-14 annals for fermented strains of witch house and curdled ambi-pop, roughly hailing the time when she was sparring with Klein and finding the essence of her skewed sound.Best known for diverse binds with darkwave band Marina Zispin and thru collabs with 2K88 and Rainy Miller, Bianca Scout has emerged among a new wave of artists intent on short-circuiting and dancing between conventions. Her early years salvo is intriguing as a diaristic sketchbook of ideas, ranging from smudged collages hinting at Memphis rap via witch-house on ‘hoot be the man’, thru more lost-in-her-own-world crystal cavern scapes on album closer ‘angels with bear skin’, surely comparable with Klein’s wanderlust.

Bianca’s songs waver off the page, into the margins and onto the desk, rattling out little slugs of mutant hip hop on ‘streetbunnies’, to the murky dream-pop of the cruddiest Teresa Winter on ‘you broke by the stake creatures of man's fear’ and the screwed stew of ‘girl_aggression’, and likewise for moments of beatific bliss with ‘clean as a whistle’ and the elegant chamber mode f’demo boy’. It’s a strange pleasure to follow her naïf, experimental line of thought unravelling on standout ‘simples - how bad can i be (and get away with it)’, and equally charming when she pulls it together on the twinkling night-light ‘snow saviour’.
