2K88 (Przemysław Jankowkowski) created the album Everything Always Changes, For We're Truly Here in collaboration with British artists Lauren Duffus, Rainy Miller, and Bianca Scout as a commission from the Unsound festival, which brings together Polish and British musicians. The album was inspired by a dance scene from Tadeusz Konwicki's 1965 film "Salto," symbolizing a leap and transformation. The album represents hypnagogic R&B that sounds like slow cinema—atmospheric music that is melancholic and contemplative, woven from sensual vocals, experimental rap, submerged rhythms, and raw sound textures. Following a live performance in Kraków, the musicians recorded 10 tracks, each exploring themes of transformation through contrasting sonic layers: from the opening composition Everything Always Changes, with its juxtaposition of noise and airy vocals, to the central track Salto, which directly engages with cinematic imagery and embodies the perfect synthesis of impressionistic pop minimalism and contemporary R&B.
