"Unsung Lies" is an album by the British folk project Weaselsnout, the brainchild of musician Julian Mount. Its connection to 2026 stems from the fact that it was in that year—with an official digital and CD release arriving in the summer of 2026 via the Seelie Court label—that this ultra-rare artifact of the British underground received its first full-fledged, official reissue.
The music was originally recorded back in 1973 at Julian Mount’s home in North Watford (Hertfordshire, UK). The recording process was rudimentary, captured using a standard reel-to-reel tape recorder and just a single microphone. The record was released in a minuscule pressing, financed by the musicians themselves (a so-called "private press") through the company Deroy, and for decades, it remained a "holy grail" for collectors of rare psychedelic folk.
