Land Systems is the melodic ambient project of Sydney-based musician Nathan Moas, who lives on Eora Country. His music explores the more ephemeral edges of ambient, pairing slowly unfolding melodies with rich effects processing to create gently undulating soundscapes.
Bryophyte is a meditative work improvised on modular and keyboard synthesizers. It wanders through granular layers and microtextures, enveloped in a spacious palette of electronic sounds. It is an acknowledgment of the complexity and wonder found at different physical scales, where zooming in becomes an act of expansion.
Moas has established himself as Sydney’s foremost creator of contemplative synthesizer soundscapes, having independently released an impressive catalog of digital albums. Oxtail Recordings is therefore delighted to present the first physical release from Land Systems.
If you’d like, I can also slightly smooth out the rhythm of the final paragraph, but in terms of meaning and style, this is already a finished version.
