The Benevento-based band, led by guitarist, vocalist, and renowned Genesis expert Mario Giammetti, spent several years creating the album. The music is a fluid, seamless narrative, divided into 20 (or 21 in some versions) relatively short, atmospheric tracks that convey the title character's spiritual journey and quest.
Thanks to Giammetti's connections in the classic rock world, the album boasted an unprecedented all-star cast of guests:
• Steve Hackett (former Genesis guitarist) contributed a stunning solo to the opening track, "Il Molo Deserto."
• John Hackett contributed flute on three key tracks.
• Legendary voices of 1970s Italian prog: Aldo Tagliapietra (Le Orme) and Lino Vairetti (Osanna) provide lead vocals on selected tracks.
