La Trasfigurazione (2012) is a seminal work by Genoese band Ornithos, a landmark event in the contemporary Rock Progressivo Italiano (RPI) scene. Released by the specialist label Black Widow Records, the album is constructed as a single conceptual canvas dedicated to the metamorphosis of the human spirit and the struggle between light and shadow. The album seamlessly blends the iconic complexity of RPI's 1970s output with theatrical expression, baroque polyphony, and powerful rock dynamics.
