Treasure is a ten-track collaborative album by American musicians David Helpling and Jon Jenkins, working at the crossroads of cinematic electronica, ambient and rhythmically pulsing electronic music. The record is structured as a journey from heroic, emotionally charged passages to calm, contemplative and almost spiritual music.
Its sonic palette is built on dense synth textures, reverberant piano, echoing guitar and restrained electro-tribal percussion, which keep the music constantly balanced between power and delicacy. Melodies unfold unhurriedly within broad sonic panoramas: at times they dissolve into luminous washes and harmonic drones, then swell into vivid, moving climaxes.
At its core is a shared sense of space and sonic architecture between the two musicians. The electronic framework is filled with living, organic warmth. The album sounds both expansive and intimate; it is rich in nuance and emotion, demands attentive listening, and reveals new details with every return.
