Shaving Lucky is a studio album by the American rock band Naked Blue, released on October 26, 2000, on the independent label Bluetick Records. Released in the fall of the same year as their acoustic album Thursday, October 21st, the album cemented the Baltimore duo of Jen and Scott Smith as prominent figures in the American independent scene.
The album's sonic foundation is built on the combination of Jen Smith's melodic and memorable vocals and Scott's technical guitar arrangements. The album is characterized by a high level of emotional openness, the organic use of live instruments, and a soft interweaving of blues, folk, and pop-rock elements.
The songs on this release (particularly the track "Stay") helped the band expand their presence in the American media. During this period, Naked Blue's music began to be actively licensed for films and popular television series on CBS and FOX (such as The Young and the Restless and Brooklyn South).
