Diana Darby - I V (Intravenous) (2012)

At its core, "I V (Intravenous)" is a confessional and, at times, frighteningly candid musical canvas. Darby recorded the vocals and guitar parts live in New York City, using single-takes without subsequent edits, which added raw emotion and vulnerability to the material. Lyrically, the album is imbued with themes of isolation, childhood memories, religious guilt, fatalism, and spiritual quest.
Diana collaborated with renowned Nashville session musicians on the album, including Viktor Krauss (double bass), Dan Dugmore (pedal steel), and David Henry (cello).
