Singer-songwriter Roger Knott has released the album Gateway Songs (released October 9, 2026), which gathers songs written over several decades, including material first developed during his years in the band Lifeblud. The recordings were made in Spain, the UK and Nashville, and most were produced by Thomm Jutz. The arrangements draw on British folk and Nashville roots music, keeping Knott’s lyrics and voice at the centre. The exception is “Laugh At The Rain”: it was produced by Clive Gregson and recorded live, with just the author’s voice and acoustic guitar.
The recording features Thomm Jutz (guitars, bass, keyboards), Pat McInerney (drums, percussion), Lynn Williams (drums), Jeff Taylor (accordion), Kevin McKendree (piano, Hammond B3), Justin Moses (fiddle, banjo, dobro), Mark Fain (upright bass), and backing vocalists Peter Cronin and Britt Savage. All songs were written by Knott.
