American musician Cooper Kenward is preparing to release his ten-track album, Call Me The Knife, on Soggy Anvil Records. The project follows his 2025 release and explores themes of reconnecting with himself and the people around him. Although promotional materials list conflicting dates, the artist has already unveiled the lead single, “Bit Better,” along with a self-directed music video. The album was recorded in early 2026 at Altamira Studios in California. Its collaborative sound was captured over just six days of live studio sessions. Cooper Kenward opted for a raw, energetic approach with his longtime band, favoring spontaneous performances over elaborate studio production. The album draws on ’90s rock and alt-country, blending warm acoustic elements with the weary optimism that runs through Call Me The Knife. The tracks reflect a collective creative process, intended to immerse listeners in an honest, lived-in sonic world.
