The supergroup Drink The Sea, whose members are guitarist Peter Buck, multi-instrumentalists Barrett Martin and Alain Johannes, musician Duke Garwood, and percussionist Lisette Garcia, is preparing to release its third album, "Drink The Sea III". It will come out on October 2, 2026, on the label Sunyata. The members share extensive experience as songwriters and multi-instrumentalists, which gives the ensemble its dramatic yet restrained manner.
The album builds on classic song structure without being confined by it. The core of the sound, folk and rock, is enriched with unconventional instruments and detailed percussion work. The main sessions took place in Olympia, Washington, at Sunyata Sound, with additional sessions in Pichilemu, Chile, and São Paulo, Brazil.
