Elvis Costello - Singles, Volume 1 (2003)

Singles, Volume 1 (2003) is a definitive archival release spanning Elvis Costello's formative, most uncompromising, and critically acclaimed period (1977–1979). The box set includes replicas of the first eleven singles released on cult independent labels Stiff Records and Radar Records—from the seminal debut Less Than Zero / Radio Sweetheart to hits from the era of My Aim Is True, This Year's Model, and Armed Forces. The release is prized not only for the inclusion of all the rare B-sides (many of which were not originally included on full-length albums), but also as a comprehensive audio document of the evolution of British new wave and pub rock in the late 1970s.
