New York-based interdisciplinary artist and improviser-composer isabel crespo pardo announces their debut solo electroacoustic album tanto te he querido under the new moniker iiisa. Created during a residency at Pioneer Works and produced on the road, the record is built from a decade's worth of archived field recordings, repurposed compositions, family audio fragments from Costa Rica, and spoken poemsongs.
Drawing conceptual framework from Latin American histories, queer thought, and Black American art, the 10-track project explores themes of intergenerational trauma, memory, vulnerability, and collective healing. Sonically, the album merges snippets of Mexican protests, multi-generational family conversations, solo piano, and experimental vocal technique, dissolving singular narrative boundaries into a fluid soundworld.
