RanestRane - A Space Odissey, Vol. 1 (2013)

A Space Odyssey, Vol. 1 (2013) is an ambitious masterpiece by the Roman quartet RanestRane, marking the beginning of their grand trilogy inspired by Stanley Kubrick's cult classic 2001: A Space Odyssey. The band is known for its unique approach to creating "CineRock" (film rock): their albums are structured like alternative soundtracks to cinematic masterpieces, synchronized with the films' plots and dialogue. In this work, the band intertwines the signature dramatic sound of Italian symphonic prog with cosmic ambience, conveying the loneliness, coldness, and philosophical depth of space exploration and human evolution.
