In Residence at Müpa serves as a new live album capturing the 2025/26 season residency of the Hungarian ensemble Söndörgő at the Budapest venue Müpa. This project commemorates the group's 30th anniversary by showcasing their musical evolution across three distinct performance pillars. The collection features collaborations with various guest artists, highlighting the group's versatility in folk, classical, and jazz traditions. During the folk concert in December 2025, the ensemble performed anniversary material alongside guest vocalists and instrumentalists. The classical evening in March 2026 featured the Balanescu Quartet reimagining Béla Bartók compositions, while the May 2026 jazz showcase marked the first live performance between the group and members of Snarky Puppy. Bandleader Áron Eredics compiled these recordings to represent the most defining moments of the residency, bridging multiple musical idioms. The work continues a streak of critical acclaim for the group, following previous album successes and securing nominations for the Songlines Music Awards.
