The French rock group Ghost Twist formed in 2018 in Perpignan, in the south of France. Its lineup brings together local scene veterans who previously played in Beach Bitches, Sonic Chicken 4, and Crank, and collaborated with artists like Pascal Comelade, Harlan T. Bobo, and The Limiñanas. The members bring extensive experience within independent music networks, having released music on acclaimed indie labels such as In The Red, Born Bad, Goner, and Trouble In Mind.
The band's foundation rests on raw 1960s garage rock, initially laced with oriental and tropical atmospheres inspired by compilations like "Jungle Exotica" and "Las Vegas Grind". Over time, the collective expanded its sonic palette by incorporating elements of cumbia, Cypress Hill-style hip-hop, Sonic Youth-esque dissonant rock, Fela Kuti's afrobeat, and country accents.
