A musical and ethnographic project by researcher Hisham Mayet (Hisham Mayet), created following three expeditions to Burkina Faso between 2013 and 2015, presents a comprehensive audio-visual documentation of traditional music from the Mossi, Bissa, Fulani, Dioula, Bobo, Samo, Lobi, Senoufo, and Bwaba peoples. The second volume of the edition focuses on the cultural heritage of the Mossi, Bissa, Bwaba, Fulani, and Samo groups. The first part of the audio material centers on archaic narrative epics about rulers and common folk accompanied by koundé stringed instruments. The second side explores trance and meditative acoustic practices dominated by rare traditional instruments: the thianhou reed zither and the lolongo mouth harp.
