The "Elvis, King Of Styles" (2024) edition with catalog number VPI 783.709 (released by VPI Records in collaboration with Culture Factory) is an exclusive three—disc compilation set released specifically for Record Store Day (RSD) 2024.
The basic concept of the release is inspired by the famous words of composer Leonard Bernstein, who called Elvis Presley "the main cultural force of the 20th century." The publication clearly demonstrates the incredible musical versatility of the artist, dividing his work by genres and styles.
The main features of the publication
• Musical content: The set includes 81 tracks recorded during Elvis' most vibrant creative period— from 1954 to 1962.
• Rare materials: The vast majority of tracks are alternate takes, rare studio sessions, and live recordings. Among the rarities is a newly discovered live recording of the song "I Forgot to Remember to Forget" (October 1955) from the Louisiana Hayride show, as well as an early, uncensored version of the hit "One Night of Sin".
• Disc design: Physical CDs are made in the unique Vinyl Replica (Black Polycarbonate) style. They completely mimic the look of classic black vinyl records with micro grooves.
• Packaging and printing: The set is provided with a collector's booklet with text in two languages (English and French), archival photographs and a description of the King's musical styles (blues, country, rock and roll, gospel).
• Sound: All archived tracks have undergone special modern audiophile remastering.
