hackedepicciotto present a new album LICHTUNG, a significant milestone in the duo's creative evolution following 14 years of nomadic living worldwide. Inspired by their new home on the outskirts of Berlin (with the title translating to "clearing" in German), the album marks a return to roots and a quest for stability. Musically, the project demonstrates a bold departure from the repetitive drones the pair was previously known for. Instead, Alexander Hacke and Danielle de Picciotto explore multi-layered electronic landscapes and complex sound structures. A notable element is Danielle's return to piano after years away, bringing new emotional dimensions to the album. Recorded in their home studio, the material develops daring experimental approaches, while the lyrical content, entirely performed in German, becomes a conscious choice that grounds the project within a Berlin context and imbues it with distinct cultural identity.
