"A Guide For The Daylight Hours" (2002) is the debut studio album by Scottish independent band Ballboy from Edinburgh, released in February 2002 on SL Records (in the US, Manifesto Records).
The album cemented the band's status as favorites of radio host John Peel and NME magazine, prompting critics to compare them to their acclaimed compatriots Belle & Sebastian and The Wedding Present.
The album's signature feature (and Ballboy's overall output) is its incredible combination of soft, pastoral music and witty, sometimes harsh, caustic, and ironic lyrics.
