NYX is the debut album from the experimental vocal-electronic collective NYX, the result of years of collaboration and sonic evolution. Blending primal vocal techniques with electronic textures, the album explores themes of transformation, healing, and the human experience. Inspired by the primordial goddess of the night in Greek mythology, NYX channels both darkness and light through immersive soundscapes.
Featuring contributions from sound designer Alicia Jane Turner, harpist Miriam Adefris, producers Memory Play and Sebastian Gainsbourgh (Vessel), and co-producer Marta Salogni, the album moves from the Taoist-inspired opener "Mother" to explosive, emotional tracks like "Through Fire" and "Daughters," and ends with a haunting cover of Suicide’s “Dream Baby Dream.” With artwork by NYX member Shireen Qureshi and mastering by Heba Kadry, the album is a powerful, cathartic journey through grief, resilience, and wonder.
