After two decades of silence, Spielerei (Databloem label founder Dennis Knopper) continues it’s ambient adventures. Initially admirably inspired by Klaus Schulze and Tangerine Dream, later by Brian Eno, Pete Namlook, Kraftwerk, Mathias Grassow, Oophoi, The Circular Ruins and more recently Markus Guentner, Lee Norris, ISHQ, Taylor Dupree and Jogging House, “A Crack in the System” combines the playful possibilities of the machine (AKAI MPC Key 37) and human creativity, resulting in 12 soundtracks of exquisite ambient explorations & grooves.Two thumbs up to Ultimae for heart-warming mastering and Theo Rabou for ever fantastic graphics.
