“Raffaele belongs to the best of the flutists of the day for his beautiful singing tone, perfect technique and dedication to the art of music.” – James Galway

This exciting release teams the superior production techniques that are a Delos hallmark, with the superlative talents of Trevisani and pianist Paola Girardi. These astonishingly beautiful transcriptions reveal much about four of Mozart’s stellar sonatas usually played by violin and piano. Composed at a time when Mozart was devoting himself particularly to the flute, this grouping contains at least one sonata designed by the composer to be played by flute and piano. It is this fact, along with the accepted period practice of the time that prompted Trevisani to undertake these four wonderful transcriptions.
