The album opens with 'Wake Up In Rage', a classic thrash anthem that sets the tempo for the rest of the songs. The heavy drum intro from Lacky fires up 'A Couple of Kills' next, with the aggression evident from the band. There are plenty of mad, crazy, and chaotic solos throughout the album, just listen to 'Human Flesh' for the best example of this.

The lyrics are straightforward and uncompromising. For example, 'Truth is a Whore' has the great line “dishonest to the core, an illusion that we adore”. The album ends with the title track 'Blood on Canvas', which rounds up the album perfectly with some killer riffs, intense drumming, and powerful singing.
