Ashley Groth became the new organist and choir director last year and began to strengthen the reputation of the Norwich Cathedral Choir. This CD is the first released by the choir in 16 years, and contains music that can be heard on Sunday at the Eucharist and at the festive evening song. There are the first recordings by Grayston Ives of Missa Brevis and settings of Songs by Richard Allen, written for the choir.
David Dunnett accompanies and concludes the CD with an inspiring performance of the prelude to the Psalm by Herbert Howells, part 2, number 3.
