Stefano Maurizi is an Italian pianist / composer based in Florence. He began studying the piano at the age of seven thanks to his Lebanese grandfather. At fifteen he began studying jazz piano and improvisation with a great pianist and teacher who will be fundamental for his artistic and human growth, Luca Flores. From 1999 to 2002 he studied composition at the Fiesole School of Music, where he also attended a master class on "composition for cinematographic images" with 'Ennio Morricone. His interest in moving images led him to collaborate with Andrej A. Tarkovskij (son of the Russian film director) for the multimedia project “Sonorità Visive”
He has collaborated with internationally artists such as Sainko Namtchylak, David Venitucci, Luciano Biondini, Dragan Dautovski, Jean-Louis Matinier, Antoine Banville and others, with whom he has performed in music festivals in Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the United States, Russia and Lebanon.
