The band was born in summer 2002 in Milan. Founder, voice and soul of the band is Amanda Tosoni. Since June 2007, groove is assured by Andrea Caggiari on bass, Max Covini on drums, Gabriele Tonsi on guitar and blues harp and Matteo Boldini on keyboards. "Amada e la Banda" offers an enthralling, varied and exciting show, meant to entertain, amuse, make people dance, sing and think at the same time.
The new repertory offers reinterpretations of classic blues and recent blues with a definitely personal, energetic style and frequent forays in funky, soul, r’n’b and a special tribute to Janis Joplin, as well as ten original songs included in the new album "THE FIRST AND THE LAST" 2011 Odd Time Records, Egea distribution. The album has received many positive reviews from national critics.
The band performs in many blues clubs such as (Jazz on Live - Brescia, Blues House, Nidaba Theatre, Le Scimmie- Milano, Spazio Musica-Pavia, Delta Beach Lounge e Paso Music- Canton Ticino, Dragons Pub -Biella, Pitschna Scena-Pontresina, to mention a few, and took part to many prestigious national and international blues festivals such as : Harare Jazz Festival, (Harare, Zimbawbe), Magic Blues Festival (Valle Maggia, CH) , Jazz and Blues Festival (Rapperswill, CH), New Orleans meets S. Gallen (S. Gallen, CH), Out of the Blues (samedan CH) , Lake side music festival - Cannobbio, Just like a Woman Festival – Savona, River blues festival-Trezzo sull'Adda, Blues in Idro-Milano; Ameno Blues e Notti di Note (VB), Notte Bianca- Milano, Torrita Blues Festival (Siena) and many others.
Over the last years, the band I had the privilege to share the stage with high-level musicians such as Nine Below Zero, Sandra Hall, Fabio Treves, Stanen Peaches, Angela Baggi, Sugar Blue, Philip Frankausen (CH), Laura Fedele Tullio de Piscopo, Big Al Carson, Arthur Miles, Heart Wind and Fire expirience, Oliver Mtukudzi (from Zimbawbe), Kunle Ayo (from Nigeria), and many other international musicians.
