Judith Beckedorf & Sean Della Croce - The Other Side (2022)

The Other Side is the musical encounter between Dresden guitarist Judith Beckedorf and American singer/songwriter Sean Della Croce from Nashville, Tennessee. The two have been friends since Beckedorf studied in Nashville for a year in 2016. When the world was gripped by the corona pandemic in 2020, Beckedorf and Della Croce began writing songs in virtual songwriting sessions over a distance of more than 7,000 km. Their musical collaboration is based on shared values ​​such as social and ecological justice. They use their two voices and play guitar, mandolin and banjo and talk about rainy days, activism, trees and their wishful thinking about a healthy human togetherness. The result is an album consisting of 10 songs, stylistically between Americana and pop with a little bluegrass in between.

"It's a really uplifting feeling to write and produce an album full of your own music and thoughts," says Beckedorf, "but I'm especially excited to bring the music to life and play it live with Sean." Della Croce adds: “Working on the album was incredibly creative and fulfilling. Judith is a talented musician and a fantastic co-writing partner. It was very inspiring for me to be able to write music so freely at a time when live music was on hiatus."

On stage, Beckedorf and Della Croce perform both solo and as a duo, presenting the songs from the new album The Other Side. The two work with full commitment to make the CD production and tour as ecologically sustainable as possible, e.g. with CO2 compensation of their international flights and an environmentally friendly CD case.
