Bergen Blues Band - Bergen Blues Band (2021)

Blues band from Bergen, created in 1974 by John Maynard Barnes, better known as HungryJohn. Initially, it was assumed that the band would give a concert at Night Jazz in Bergen in the same year, but interest became so great that the band became permanent. The first ensemble consisted of Barnes (vocals, harmonica), Per Jorgensen (guitar), Kare Sandvik (piano), Edvard Askeland (bass) and Frank Jacobsen (drums). The latter left in 1975 to become a member of Cutting Edge. Willy Korneliussen became the new drummer. The ensemble was reinforced by a brass band on the Bergen Blues Band's debut album in 1980. It was an impressively high-level blues recording, recorded at Bergen Lydstudio with producer Trygve Thule and contains eleven original Bernes compositions..
