Isabel Fèlix presents a new record that rescues from oblivion and vindicates the figure of a composer who captivated her from the moment she became aware of her work: Margarida Orfila.
Margarida Orfila (Maó, Menorca, 1889 - Barcelona, 1970) was a composer, pianist and music teacher. When she was very young her family moved to Barcelona. She studied at the Escola Municipal de Música de Barcelona with Antoni Nicolau, Joan Lamote de Grignon, Lluís Millet, Eusebi Daniel and Carles Pellicer. Very soon she stood out as a pianist and composer and at the age of 17 she was appointed as a teacher at the School.
After years of study and research - which still continues - among manuscript scores and unreleased material, Isabel Felix presents the first world recording of Margarida Orfila's complete works for solo piano.
