Music is/as a communication network, the binding agent, the reason we stop and sing or just listen, fairly certain that just beyond this is eternal and empty so we stop and sing for a while, faintly aware, more so sometimes, of the connections and their simultaneous tenacity & tenderness, music is a metaphor for this, notes and transients collide in the air, sustaining for a moment and dissipating, all at once ephemeral and indelible, leaving silver threaded mycelium webs between our brains, the shared experience of frequencies and spls, so easily measured & so subjectively experienced, even the same sounds take different forms against your ears, nestled inside or rushing across the room from a giant tower, but where was i? reflecting on spending time, how do we spend our time? reflecting on how we spend our lives, a little gust of wind and the webs scatter and tangle, connections lost and found, a moment of chaos settles in to a new order, inconceivable moments before, incontrovertible moments after, even the indelible marks smoothed over a bit from time and the forgiving nature of our memories, but still there, so every song matters, if only as a distraction on the road, a way to pass or keep the time, something to spend our lives with, to bring with us. - mgg
