Linnuissa return with their third album 'Vihreä Talo' [TRAE006], recorded live over a period of three days in December 2018 at a community art-space/ small concert venue of the same name. The wooden building in Riihimäki, Finland, built in the early 1900's, has seen a plethora of performances from the Finnish avant-garde, spoken word, theater and avant-folk scene.
Linnuissa, A.K.A. Karri Luhtala and Joni Judén explore the physical space, and various other dimensions using a Fender Rhodes, a "Russian Moog clone", an electric guitar, effect units and electronics. Judén adds post production via his tape machines (and more effects), toying with concepts of phasing and the decay in sonics. The album's focus is on the atmosphere, drones and free expression, as the intense bliss on 'Tuolla Puolen' or the organ freak-outs on 'Yrttipuutarhassa' demonstrate.
Insipired by anti-consumerism, DIY ecology, 2001: A Space Odyssey, 'Irrlicht' era Kosmische and Miles's electric period, Linnuissa create a murky, jazz-tinged psychedelic world where notes glide around like oil on water and time is warped. 'Vihreä Talo,' rich in deep organic textures and dense ambiance, is a voyage to dreamlike and altered states.
