The Fifth Dandelion is the debut solo album by Paul Molloy guitarist of The Coral and one half of Serpent Power and features the singles Dungaree Day and My Madonna. The album is written and self produced entirely by Paul Molloy who also sings and plays most instruments. Ian Skelly plays drums and Sundowners provide extra backing vocals. Paul began playing guitar aged 10 after his dad showed him Chuck Berry and Little Richard performances on TV. Becoming hooked he swiftly became obsessed with 60s music, blues and rock and roll. He formed his first band The Skylarks at age 15 as chief songwriter. The band became a popular Liverpool act and released many EPs leading to 2002s ‘Death of the 20th Century Man’ album released on a Japanese label. After 2 tours of Japan they disbanded. In 2003 Paul joined Edgar Jones’ Joneses which led to a run as guitarist for many popular Liverpool bands at the time including The Stands, The Zutons as well The Big House with Candie Payne. In 2013 Paul joined forces with Ian Skelly and the pair became fast friends and songwriting partners. Deciding to fully adopt the name of Ian’s current backing band Serpent Power they wrote, arranged, sang, performed and produced 2 albums 2015’s eponymous ‘Serpent Power’ and 2017’s Electric Looneyland During this time Paul was asked to join The Coral for their 2016 ‘Distance Inbetween’ album. This was followed by 2018’s ‘Move Through the Dawn’.
