Sandra Urba - Schumann- Piano Works (2021)

“Schumann again and again” - one would think ... and yet: This recording is worth listening to (again) these well-known works! Sandra Urba succeeds in both working out the pianistic richness of the two character variations with her own level of detail and at the same time literally tracing the diverse emotional world of Robert Schumann and making it sound. (Greetings from Florestan and Eusebius ...) With the two character variations ABEGG Variations (op.1) and Symphonic Etudes (op.13) as well as the Arabesque (op.18) the young pianist chose a highly demanding program for her CD debut, which demands a high degree of virtuosity and "musical understanding" from the interpreter ... Sandra Urba fulfills these requirements with flying colors!
