Throughout the history of Bluegrass Music there have been many musicians and bluegrass bands that have come to be. There are fine bands and fine musicians just about everywhere you go to hear bluegrass music. However, every once in a while there comes a hard-driving bluegrass sound that is distinctive. Such is the case with Louie Setzer and the Appalachian Mt. Boys.
In listening to their first album you will realize that these boys are dedicated to Bluegrass Music. LouieSetzer has a very intense voice that rings with true notes, as does the harmony singing that backs him up.
The band originally started up to support the Appalachian Fiddle & Bluegrass Association of Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania, which holds monthly Shindig s and a summer Bluegrass Festival. Before long the boys were playing clubs, festivals, and shows all over the Northeast. They have proven to be a hard act to follow.
These days you can hear a fiddle or banjo anytime you turn on a radio or T. V. You’ll hear a banjo in a commercial or a country fiddle player with an orchestra On this album you will hear a true bluegrass band. No gimmicks or electric instruments, just plain pickin and singing, the way it is meant to be.
