„Trio Vivente are second to none in their vibrant and transparent approach.” (Badische Zeitung)
With their sensuous and spirited approach to music, together with lightness and sophistication, Trio Vivente have without doubt joined the ranks of the prestigious ensembles. They have been exciting both audiences and press and radio with their fresh interpretations for 25 years.
The violinist Anne Katharina Schreiber and cellist Kristin von der Goltz, both of whom have longstanding connections with the prestigious Freiburg Baroque Orchestra and the Berlin Baroque Soloists, are renowned experts in historical performance practice. Together with the pianist Jutta Ernst they bring a breath of fresh air to the trio repertoire, from the Classic to the Modern. Through their colourful interplay a rare intensive unity emerges, and in the vitality of the interpretations Trio Vivente live up to their name: vibrant, spirited and authentic.
Extensive experience in solo and orchestral concert activity, as well as artistic teaching at colleges of music and in master classes (the latter, for example, at Montepulciano in Italy in 2016), have enriched the trio’s playing with ever new impulse and ideas.
Along with the established works of the trio repertoire, female composers such as Fanny Hensel, Clara Schumann and Emilie Mayer have a permanent place in the trio’s concert program. The ensemble are also dedicated to showcasing less well-known trios of all eras, along with contemporary works by Wolfgang Rihm, Volker David Kirchner and Marc-Aurel Floros.
Trio Vivente have been a welcome guest at various prestigious concert series. They have performed at festivals such as the Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele and the Musikfestspiele Saar.
Their CDs with piano trios by Haydn, Schubert and the Mendelssohn siblings have all received glowing reviews. In 2005 the ensemble’s Schubert recording won high praise and was given a Supersonic Award. In spring 2017 the trio released a CD with works by the long-forgotten romantic composer Emilie Mayer, receiving immediate attention after its release. “The CD with piano trios by Emilie Mayer is an unexpected gem: Pieces whose rediscovery are well worth hearing again, performed by an ensemble who more than do justice to the music. A highly recommended recording!” (Wibke Gerking, Radio WDR3)
