Jackie Leven - Control (1971/1997)

First album by the Scottish storyteller.
In 1997 Jackie Leven was awarded the German Record Critics' Prize for his album "Fairytales For Hardmen". Pararllel re-released Cooking Vinyl Leven's very first album at the awards ceremony. "Control" is one of those treasures that most fans of the Scottish Highlander have probably dug in vain to date. Recorded in 1971, the album appeared two years later under the pseudonym John St. Field and was only available for a short time in Spain in a limited edition. In terms of composition, the songs already show his clear signature. He was later to drive the album's mystical atmosphere to extremes with his band Doll BY Doll, and it still resonates noticeably on his solo albums.
