Jackie Leven released a lot of solo albums in the past decade or so, but they are all consistently good ... and this one is no exception. Except for a silly ditty called "Hotel Mini Beer" you have more sterling examples of the mystical and magical; rock music elevated to a higher plane thanks to Jackie's sublime vocals and some nimble guitar work. A guest vocal appearance by the legendary Ralph McTell blends in perfectly, as does the very chilling addition of a choir composed of relatives of the men killed in that Russian submarine accident a few years back. An audacious idea, but once again Jackie Leven pulls it off. Fine, fine album.
