JUSTIN TUBB was, of course, the son of the legendary 'Texas Troubadour', Ernest Tubb.
During the early 1950s, Justin overcame the potential obstacle of being overshadowed by his father's enormous reputation, to carve out an eminently successful career as a Country songwriter/singer, under his own steam.
His early hits, 'Looking Back To See' and 'Sure Fire Kisses', were duets recorded with Goldie Hill, herself another greatly undervalued singer.
This compilation presents the very best of his output for Decca, Challenge and Starday between 1953-62 and includes all his early hits, including duets with Hill and Roger Miller.
A remarkably versatile body of work, it includes sides like 'Pepper Hot Baby', 'Sugar Lips' and 'Rock It On Down To My House', which are much sought-after items among R&R fans/collectors.
This is the first time that this body of work has been thus compiled, and includes a half-dozen tracks which have never previously made it onto CD.
