Way back at the turn of the 1950s, SIDNEY LOUIS 'HARDROCK' GUNTER was one of the founding fathers of Rock & Roll, his first two self-penned releases, 'Birmingham Bounce' and 'Gonna Dance All Night' routinely featuring in discussions about 'What was the first R&R record?'

He went on to record a wealth of Hillbilly, Rockabilly and neo-R&R sides for major labels like Decca and MGM, and indies like Sun, King and Starday.

This unique compilation presents the very best of his recordings for a dozen different record labels, between 1950 and 1962.

Includes collectables like 'I've Done Gone Hog Wild', 'I'll Give 'Em Rhythm', 'Whoo I Mean Whee' and his original, pre-Sun cut of 'Juke Box Help Me Find My Baby'.

Much of this material is hard to find elsewhere on CD, while a handful of these sides have never previously appeared in the digital format.
