Damnation Angels - Fiber of Our Being (2020)

Fiber Of Our Being is the third album from UK Symphonic Metal band Damnation Angels. This is the first album to feature new vocalist Iggy Rodriguez and new bassist Nic Southwood, along with guitarist William Graney and drummer John Graney.

This is a very polished record. The overall mix and production value is excellent, and the individual pieces are clear and punchy. In short, it just really sounds good. Rodriguez’s vocals are clear and powerful, with spot-on delivery and harmonies. The guitars rest in the sweet spot of clarity and punch. The drums are big and boomy. The keyboards could come down a hair, but overall, the record is sonically excellent.

Every track on Fiber Of Out Being has something to offer, and while there are only 9 songs, the record clocks in at over 56 minutes. The longest song, “Remnants Of A Dying Star”, comes in at almost 13 minutes. The shortest is still well over 4 minutes. The first single from the record is the title track, “Fiber Of Our Being”. Its pretty representative of most of the songs. Dynamic, melodic, musically interesting without sacrificing listenability for the sake of virtuosity, it’s an impressive piece that should appeal to a broad audience.
